This free program lets you read and study the Bible in different versions and translations. It has a very simple and straightforward interface that will allow you to start immediately without any complications.
At startup, the program shows the last text you opened. When you use it for the first time, it will show Genesis 1:1 of the New American Standard Bible version. The program already has several Bible texts, which is a noteworthy difference with other Bible programs, in which you need to download modules, some of which are cost-based. This program includes the aforementioned New American Standard Bible, as well as the New King James Version, the New English Translation, the Spanish La Biblia de las Américas, and more. To change the Bible version, you only need to open the menu at the upper left corner of the interface and click on the version you want to read.
The program also has a powerful and fast search option. You only need to write a word or Bible quote and click on Enter or hit the small magnifier at right. The program will show the word in all the verses where it appears. The word will appear highlighted in blue for your convenience.
Another interesting function is the ability to choose different layouts. Thus, you can show or hide toolbars, headers, references, and so on, as well as show the words of Christ in red or in plain text. Also, you can show two versions of the Bible simultaneously for comparison purposes.
In sum, this program is a good and free alternative to pay-based Bible programs. If you are a cleric, scholar or a serious Bible reader, then you may want to give it a try.
